Summary:
Serve as project manager for specified NDUS projects and support functions of Enterprise Project Management. A project manager (PM) guides a project through the initiation, planning, execution, control, and closing processes while ensuring the project is on time, on budget, and within the identified scope. Project managers at NDUS (North Dakota University System) follow a defined methodology to successfully complete a project, establishing schedules, preparing a project budget and staffing plan, identifying and assessing risks and issues, and providing necessary documentation and communication throughout the project lifecycle. They will work with the project sponsor to assemble a project team and lead that team in developing a project schedule, as well as identifying project deliverables, milestones, and measures of success along with risks and issues. They also help to identify project stakeholders and solicit feedback from stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. A PM is also trained as an Organizational Change Management (OCM) practitioner and may perform those duties for identified projects. A PM represents the NDUS at state and national meetings, conferences, training sessions, and events.Minimum
Qualifications:
o Postsecondary coursework in Business, Management Information Systems, Education or a related field or equivalent combination of education, directly related training and work experience. o One year of experience in project management. o Demonstrated project management, organizational, and analytical skills. o Previous experience managing project cost, schedule, scope, risks, issues, and changes. o Knowledge and previous experience working with various IT procedures and systems. o Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating project teams including internal IT and business team members and external consultants/vendors. o Ability to work independently, capable of organizing and prioritizing the work of self and others; handle multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities while maintaining quality and productivity. o Demonstrated written/oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. o Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization.Preferred
Qualifications:
o Associate's Degree or higher o Experience working in higher education. o Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute or willingness to work toward this certification. o Organizational Change Management experience. o Demonstrated proficiency with project management tools and PC productivity tools.EEO/AA STATEMENT:
