Yes Purpose of Position This position is in the College of Arts & Sciences Communication Department.
The course is an asynchronous online course to be taught in Spring 2024.
Preferred candidates will have an extensive background in sports journalism in a variety of contexts, especially in covering UND athletics.
Duties & Responsibilities Course instruction of Comm 346:
Sports Communication (3 credits) in an asynchronous online course format in spring 2024.
Course development of an undergraduate sports journalism course to be taught in Fall 2024.
Required Competencies Excellent written and oral communication skills, including evidence of the ability to teach, inspire, and mentor students Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and students Ability to work with and engage diverse students and colleagues Ability to adapt to current methods of teaching via on-campus and online delivery Minimum Requirements Must hold an MA/MS in Communication or related discipline OR at least 10 years of professional experience in sports journalism Successful completion of a Standard Criminal History Background Check In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
